Many people who enquire about singing lessons often ask me whether I have trained any famous people?
My response is always “Why? Would that make me a better teacher?

The other question is always “Am I a famous singer etc etc! Or a famous personality?

Quite often, many teachers who are famous (so to speak) are very good at helping you with confidence, song choices, and even stage presentation, but when it comes to vocal technique, breathing and how to develop your voice evenly on the breath, with no vocal strain it is a completely different scenario.
When I developed the “10 Essential Lessons For Easy Singing” www.voiceology.com.au
my major goal was to give people a foundation to build some great vocal skills, through constant practise of vocal exercises and breathing practise daily.
Never underestimate the power of practise! As I always say “The voice is and instrument and we need to learn how to play it” just like any other musical instrument.
Natural talent supported by some great vocal skills and diaphragm breathing is what will give you longevity as a singer.
So if you are serious about training your voice with a solid foundation, be sure you are not carried away by the popularity of a certain teacher, just because they may be famous!
Of course, many famous people are great teachers, but always be sure that you are training your voice and not just singing songs (unless that is what you signed up for.)

Until next week,
Happy singing,
